Orinda Theater

Casa Azul

Sitting just off Miner Road, Casa Azul is one of the most notable homes in Orinda. The original owner built the home in 1925, and has had several owners since. The Mediterranean architecture gives it the feel of a bygone age in California. The property also has lush, well-kept landscaping. It is an impressive property between the design of the structure, the landscaping, and the view of the country club.

DeLaveaga Train Station

The DeLaveaga Train Station was a stop on the old California & Nevada Railroad. The rail line built the station in the 1880s. While many of the stops are still known, this is the only one with a structure still standing. The trains on this line hauled everything from produce and supplies to passengers. For a time, the trains made Orinda a destination for people looking to spend time away from the city on weekends.

Santa Maria Chapel

The Santa Maria Chapel was an old Catholic church in Orinda. The original structure no longer stands, but a larger church has replaced it. The Chapel is from 1892, and it served the community until 1954. The newer church was built at that time to accommodate the growing population. Visitors can still go to the current Church of Santa Maria to see the bell from the old Chapel.
